Melissa Leigh is a Registered Alcohol & Drug Technician (RADT), Certified Health Coach, Recovery Support

Specialist, Group Facilitator, and Sober Companion who combines extensive professional experience with the perspective of long-term personal recovery to provide compassionate, individualized support. She believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery and is committed to helping each client discover the path that works best for them.

With experience in residential treatment, sober living, crisis support, and one-on-one sober companion services, Melissa has supported individuals facing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation, and the everyday obstacles that can accompany early recovery. She provides personalized support ranging from accountability, transportation, and daily structure to community integration, appointment coordination, and practical life skills, helping clients build confidence while navigating the challenges of everyday life.

Melissa's approach is rooted in empathy, consistency, and compassionate accountability. She believes meaningful change happens through genuine connection and by meeting each client where they are, while encouraging steady progress toward greater independence, confidence, and long-term wellness.

As a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Certified Health Coach, Melissa brings a holistic perspective to recovery, recognizing the powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit.

She encourages clients to complement evidence-based treatment with practices such as mindfulness, meditation, breath work, nutrition, movement, and creative expression to support lasting recovery and overall well-being. One of Melissa's greatest passions is helping people reconnect with purpose through creativity.

Throughout her own recovery journey, she rediscovered her love of songwriting and experienced firsthand the healing power of music and creative expression. She enjoys helping clients identify their own passions, strengths, and interests as they build fulfilling, purpose-driven lives in recovery.

Melissa's goal is not simply to help individuals maintain sobriety, but to empower them to develop resilience, confidence, meaningful relationships, and lives they genuinely enjoy living.

Mark Wheeler - Sober since June 22, 1993 — 33 years of continuous sobriety. Mark brings more than three decades of continuous sobriety and twenty+ years working inside the entertainment industry. He understands the disease, and he understands the specific world in which entertainment clients have to get and stay sober: studio and network development stress, the constant demands of production, sets, press obligations, and premieres, deal pressure, and the isolation that comes with visibility.

Recovery foundation. Sober since June 22, 1993, Mark has maintained continuous, active participation in Twelve Step recovery for thirty-three years, including decades of hands-on service work with people in early sobriety and in crisis. Service is the practice that has anchored his life for three decades.

Speaking and panel service. Over the course of his sobriety, Mark has carried recovery meetings and panels into institutional settings including Los Prietos Boys Camp and Lompoc

Federal Penitentiary, and ran weekly recovery groups at the Salvation Army in Santa Barbara.

He has attended and participated in meetings across many countries around the world, and is comfortable speaking, leading groups, and sharing experience in any room.

Dual-diagnosis experience. Mark's experience is lived and peer-level: across decades of service work and group leadership, he has supported many people navigating sobriety alongside mental health challenges in high functioning executive roles, and he understands the difference between what peer support can hold and what belongs to clinicians. He works strictly within the peer scope of practice and escalates to clinical staff appropriately.

Industry fluency. Mark spent twenty+ years as an entertainment executive and producer, beginning at Innovative Artists and then alongside veteran agent Lou Pitt, later running his own management and production company. He has spent a career around well-known people and is not starstruck; he knows how production days, events, and premieres actually run, where the pressure points and triggers live in that world, and how to be present in it without needing anything from it.

Discretion and temperament. Confidentiality has been a professional baseline for his entire career; he has operated under NDAs and handled sensitive personal and financial matters for high-profile clients as a matter of routine. Colleagues know him as calm under pressure, direct, and reliable, with strong boundaries and the logistical competence that comes from decades of working with complex productions and travel.

Professional development. Mark's SUDRC registration is in process with CADTP, a California DHCS-approved certifying organization, and he is committed to formal training, supervision, and working strictly within the sober companion and peer support scope of practice.

Frances B, CRS

After years of feeling disconnected and unfulfilled, I was given the opportunity to embrace sobriety and face the challenges of my mental health. For a long time, I worked in a career that didn’t align with who I was or who I wanted to become. Through that experience, I made a commitment to stay sober, invest in my personal growth, and build a strong foundation in recovery—so that one day, I could support others on their own journeys.

Over time, I rebuilt my self-confidence, repaired meaningful relationships, and created a life that I am genuinely proud of. Today, I have a healthy home life, strong connections with loved ones, and a career that brings me purpose. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside my clients and support them in their recovery.

With over nine years of personal recovery and four years of professional experience, I am a dedicated recovery companion committed to meeting clients where they are. I began my career

as a program mentor at Casa Bella, where I developed my ability to form authentic, meaningful connections. I have since completed the International Recovery Institute’s Certified Recovery

Specialist (CRS) program and am a Registered Drug and Alcohol Technician (RAD-T). My long-term goal is to continue growing in this field by becoming a case manager and earning my CADC.

I work with a wide range of cases involving diverse diagnoses, including co-occurring disorders and substance use disorders, and support both adults and adolescents. I have a strong understanding of medication-assisted treatment and am well-versed in grounding techniques. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal.

I also deeply value the role of self-care, both in my own life and in the work I do with others.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy cooking, exploring new foods, spending time in nature, and connecting with family and loved ones—practices that continue to support and enrich my own recovery.

Daniel K.

My path into the behavioral health and recovery field is shaped by both professional experience and personal understanding. Before entering the field, I spent more than a decade working as a paralegal. After experiencing the challenges of addiction firsthand and ultimately finding recovery, I made the decision to transition into a career where I could use both my professional background and personal experience to support others.

Since entering the behavioral health and recovery field, I have worked in a variety of roles, including as a Behavioral Health Technician, Recovery Companion, and Health and Wellness Coach. I also have formal education and training in drug and alcohol counseling. My experience includes supporting individuals navigating substance use disorders, recovery, and co-occurring mental health conditions, including dual-diagnosis clients. I have worked with clients in treatment settings as well as in individualized, one-on-one environments, providing sober companionship, accountability, structure, practical support, and assistance navigating the challenges of everyday life in recovery.

With six years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol, I understand firsthand how difficult addiction can be and how challenging—but rewarding—the process of building and maintaining a life in recovery can be. Having personally gone through addiction and recovery gives me an understanding that goes beyond professional experience. I know how isolating and difficult addiction can feel, as well as the challenges that can come with early recovery and learning how to build a new life. My personal experience allows me to relate to the people I support in a genuine and down-to-earth way while still maintaining the professionalism, discretion, and boundaries that are essential to this work.

I am fluent in English and Farsi. My approach is compassionate, honest, nonjudgmental, and individualized. I believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all, and that having someone who understands what you’re going through—while providing support, accountability, and consistency—can make a meaningful difference.
